my kind of homework

it was 8pm. a sleepy emma was tucked in her bed. i laid eli in his bed, covered him, said goodnight and he responded, "but i have homework." he took me to his yellow folder and pulled out a turkey. the directions:
1) cut out the turkey
2) decorate it
3) be creative

"now this is my kind of homework assignment." i thought to myself.

we ditched the 8pm bedtime and headed to the craft room to see what we could find. 30 minutes later the turkey was covered with black beans, streamers, ribbon, google eyes, puff balls and yarn.

so this is why i keep these kind of random craft supplies on hand. i mean, if i didn't, we would have had to resort to crayons and markers.
