gardening indoors

years ago, before even emma was born, i received an aerogarden in the mail from my dad. we grew a few crops, had fun watching things grow and then i decided to pack it away for a while.

i kind of forgot about the aerogarden until i found it tucked away in my closet.

the other day, we set it up once again. the kids were ecstatic. i told them it is their responsibility to take care of it. "when this light comes on, it needs water," i said. "when this light comes on, it needs food." their eyes got big with excitement. "and, when the spouts arrive, it's time to take off the caps and watch them grow."

so there they wait. wait for a light to come on. wait for a sprout to appear.
