Signs of spring

Today I probably planted 100 marigolds. They help keep pests out of the garden, did you know that? The garden in March is small and dainty. Soon, I will have zucchini and tomatoes and greenbeans coming out of my ears. Sunflowers have sprouted and will soon reach the sky. Strawberries are blooming and will soon hit the taste buds of two little children. Until then, we will wait.

We flew our first kite of the season today. We rode bikes to the park. I wore flip-flops, the best shoes ever. I checked the nest in our live oak tree for visitors, still vacant. We ate dinner out.

All the signs of this perfect season called spring.
