perfect fit

southern california offered long summer days. perfect summer days actually. as a child, those days were spent with a freezer full of popsicles. my sister and i would take a break from exploring in the backyard to fetch a popsicle from the freezer. i would grab a red one, she would grab an orange one.

we were a perfect fit. i hated orange, she loved it. we always finished the box of popsicles with no orange ones shoved to the back of the freezer.

i see this now with my children. every morning i hand out vitamins. each get two. eli requests two orange vitamins. emma requests two red. i give into their requests because of the nostalgia it brings.

and just like my sister and i were, these two are a perfect fit.
