Eli wanted to paint. We enter our craft room which Eli refers to as the craft store. I had two little children at my feet begging for something to do. I almost grabbed a few bottles of paint when I realized Emma would also be painting. I imagined her painting the walls, the floors, her face. Then, I reached for the watercolors. A perfect starter paint for an 18-month little girl just learning to paint.
Eli and I coached her through the science of painting. She caught on. She painted away.
Eli painted a new house for his beloved stuffed bunny.
I love these moments. Sure, Emma still painted the wall. She painted her arms, her face and the floor. I wiped it all up, hung her first painting on the wall and smiled.
