Today is my last birthday of my 20's. Boy, David must take me somewhere special next birthday to get my mind off of turning the big 3-0. Here's a desperate birthday letter to my dear parents:
Dear Mom and Dad,
Today David asked me where I want to go out to eat tonight for my birthday. I got really excited because it means I don't have to cook or do anything for that matter. Well, the excitement didn't last long because I soon realized that unless we want to drive 45 minutes, there are no good places to eat around here. Yes, there are the usual chain restaurants, but...those are quiet boring...it's my 29th birthday for goodness sakes. So, I beg of you, please ship the following to your daughter:
1) A chicken rice & cheese burrito from Juanita's. You could actually ship a few, I'll just freeze them for future cravings. Make sure you also send some salsa!
2) Some Vince's Spagetti. Please include a bunch of their salad with Italian dressing. I'd also like extra cheese bread
3) Anything from Rubio's, preferably a quesadilla and a burrito
4) An In & Out Burger complete with fries and a chocolate shake
5) Something BBQ from Lucille's
Thank you for making my birthday yummy!
Love,
Melissa

On a side note to all my California readers:
You don't realize what you have until it's taken away from you
I love Texas and all BUT the (local) food is not so pleasant most of the time
What's a pregnant woman to do? Starve herself and her baby?
Don't worry, I'm not starving...I just cook at home all the time

I can't agree with you more. There were so many great places to eat in CA. It's fun to see some of the popular places from there finally making their way out here. Have a wonderful b-day!!!!
