we went on a cruise. did you know that?

just the two of us. celebrating 10 years of us.

it was glorious. we slept in. we walked on the beach. we explored. we stayed up crazy late. we laughed until we cried. glorious i tell you.

one afternoon we sat on a window seat overlooking the ocean. we both had our ipods. we sat there for what seemed like a lifetime listening to music, watching the waves. i snapped out of my daydream to david tapping my knee. i turned the music down and removed my headphones.

"you know," david said, "there's not many people in this world who i can just sit next to, in total silence, and not feel an ounce of awkwardness."

i smiled a very big smile at him, turned the music back up and put my headphones back on. i thought about THIS post and the smile continued.

you see, david doesn't read my blog. he gets enough of my thoughts and words in person. yet, he spoke my words to me that afternoon at sea.

at that moment there was no other place in the world i'd rather be. even now, days later, i still feel the same.
