our home no longer has a nursery. it's time to say goodbye. for the past 5-1/2 years i've laid a little one down in this sweet bed at night. i've turned on mobiles. i've cracked open the door in the middle of the night just to see what sleeping like a baby looks like.
last night emma crawled into her new bed for the first time. before she did, she grabbed a book and a doll. she then slipped herself under the covers, laid her head on her pillow and said goodnight. i checked on her about 329 times.
this has always been one of my most favorite rooms in the house. i love the perfect color of green on the walls. i love the contrast of green and red. i love how the light shines perfectly in the window. i love how the window overlooks our two apple trees.
my decorating style is simple and minimal. i don't like things busy. i like things organized even if it's only for a minute. i like bright colors and darling trinkets that offer a glimpse into who lives here.
i am completely sad about saying goodbye to the nursery but the thrill of redecorating this room helps the sting just a bit. it's a work in progress. over the next few weeks, i'll move things around constantly and shop for sweet finds until the room is complete.
