This is a continuation of my previous post, Boy Meets Girl...
Our dating days were fun. We camped with friends at the beach, we went to concerts, we rode his most uncomfortable racing motorcycle to the beach, we were always together. We ate good food, laughed with great friends and I wouldn't change it for the world.
In a way, we became Christians together. To make a very long story short, God used a crazy, random storm to bring us to Him. When I turned 19, I bought my first new vehicle. A truck. A 1998 Chevy S10. Man, I loved that thing. Perfect for camping. I was very fond of that truck, too fond of it. David and I attended college together, our schedules didn't allow us to carpool, but our day ended at the same time so we always followed each other home. When class was over the sky was filled with fierce clouds. We knew a storm was on its way. Since David was riding his motorcycle, we ran to our cars and tried to beat the storm. I was following David and soon it was obvious that we weren't going to make it home without a little drama. Within minutes, it was pouring rain, the streets were flooded, David was soaked, his motorcycle stalled, we were stuck. We abandoned his motorcycle and headed to find a pay phone (pre-cell phone days) to call a tow truck. While David was on the phone, I was sitting in my beloved truck waiting. All of a sudden a huge tree branch fell on the cab of my truck, dented in the cab and blew out all the back windows except for the window behind me. It scared me to death. Glass everywhere, water everywhere. It continued to storm for a few more minutes and then it stopped. The skies were clear and the sun was shining. It was as if nothing had ever happened.
God had been working on our hearts prior to the storm, but the storm was a turning point, we haven't turned back since. We were engaged less than a year later...

What a cute story. I really need to sit down and write how Steve and I met now. Glad you made it home from CA in one piece. I'm sure you had a blast!
