Eli and I spent the day at Children's Hospital. Let me explain...this may take a while. When my sweet Mr. E was about 4 months old, I noticed one of his eyes turned in slightly. Wanting my son to be perfect, I mentioned it to my pediatrician at the time. She said it's because the bridge of his nose is wide and he should grow out. I forgot about it...until...early this year. I was shopping in Walmart when a random stranger of a lady walked up to me, commented on how beautiful Eli is and then asked me if I've ever had him tested for a lazy eye. After that comment, I of course couldn't stop thinking about the possibility that Eli may need glasses or surgery to fix his eye. So, this is what happened next:
-At Eli's two year check-up I mentioned it to his current pediatrician
-She referred me to Children's Hospital
-I waited 3 months for an appointment
-Today I took him to his appointment, got lost in the hospital, accidentally pressed the "HELP!" button in an elevator and ended up spending 3 hours there
-He had eye drops put in his little eyes, cried like crazy, saw the opthamologist and had a complete eye exam
-The opthamologist said the following: his eyes are straight, he just has extra skin on one side that makes it appear like one of his eyes turns in, he will grow out of it, his eyes are perfect, he's a cute little boy and I need to stop listening to random strangers at Walmart
***
Okay, yes I agree I need to stop listening to random people but I'm grateful and happy that I've had his eyes checked and he's completely healthy!
