Look at this little boy. Sweet, cute as a button Eli. Could he possibly do anything wrong? I'm sure his Grandparents would say "no," BUT he's not as sweet when you spend 24/7 with him. I can't remember the last time I was away from Eli. Oh, I remember, a few Sunday's back when I escaped for a well deserved haircut. It was lovely by the way. Okay, back to sweet cute as a button Eli.

Last night I was making a delicious Mexican food meal for our family. Eli pulled out his huge coloring book and I gave him his crayons. He plopped himself on the kitchen floor and began coloring. In the middle of making my gourmet meal, I noticed from the corner of my eye that Eli wasn't coloring in his coloring book. He instead decided to color our light beige ceramic tile grout a lovely teal blue color.

I didn't panic though because I had a plan:
1) Put Eli in time-out
2) Pull out my magic eraser sponge that has saved my home from many of Eli's art projects
3) Take Eli out of time-out two minutes later
4) Finish making my Mexican food
It didn't turn out how I planned. Instead the following happened:
1) Put Eli in time-out
2) Pull out my magic eraser sponge and start scrubbing
3) Plan B - pull out goo-gone and start scrubbing
4) Plan C - use good old soap and water and start scrubbing
5) Plan D - take Eli out of time out 10 minutes later, start to panic, get on the Internet for some advice on how to get rid of this darn crayon
6) Plan E - use boiling hot water, some dish soap, a sponge (I added a toothbrush) and pray that we don't get burned
7) 30 minutes later, after scrubbing and scrubbing and scrubbing, the crayon is 90% gone (I got tired of scrubbing), light enough so David doesn't notice, I'll return to my hands and knees some day in the near future to get rid of the 10% left.
8) Eat Mexican food, put Eli to bed early, get under the covers with a cup of ice-cream and watch House Hunters
***
What I learned from this fine evening:
1) Man, I keep a lot of what happens during my crazy Eli days to myself...oh, and my blog readers
2) There's no need to panic
3) My home is not a model home, it will never be perfect, it is loved and lived in
4) Homemade Mexican food is GOOD (pregnancy craving number 4)
5) Ice-cream in bed is even better
6) I asked for a boy, and boy...did I get one. And, there's a good possibility that come July, I'll have another one
