sunday night. the clock hit 8pm. bedtime for two children. we entered emma's room to begin our evening routine.
we ditched it.
instead we laid on the floor. in a row. close as sardines. we giggled. we hugged. i melted when i heard eli tell emma, "trust me, you don't need to cry going to bed tonight." we shared a moment.
the children finally got to bed close to 9:30pm.
i'm not much of a routine kind of mother. i do what i feel. tonight i felt like ditching the clock and enjoying my children.
the gift of an ordinary day.
